Information about Maggie

Hello! My name is Maggie Porturo (pronounced porter-oh). Maggie is indeed my given name -- I am not a Margaret. I was born in Boston in 1967, and I still live in the area, in Brookline, a suburb. I work at Massachusetts General Hospital doing data entry and some minor programming, but mostly I commute on the T (the local Boston Area subway -- yuck!)

This is the house I live in, in Brookline. Actually, I live up in the top right corner. Those two windows on the right are my bedroom.

I live there with four other people my age, Tom, the other Tom, Alison and Jane. Its a nice big house, so sharing it isn't too bad. I cook for the group on Wednesdays.

We also have a cat. This is Angus, in a warm and fluffy mood. Angus can actually be quite friendly when he's not killing and eating other cats. He's 11 years old, 14 pounds, and all muscle. Some maine coon in his blood, we think (thats a breed of cat). Angus actually belongs to Jane, but since we've been living here for two years or more, he sort of belongs to all of us now. If one of us moves out we'll have to set up visitation rights.

Car? What car?
I would show you a picture of my car, but I don't have one. A car, that is. I can get everywhere I need to get on the T (albeit really slowly).

Mostly when I'm not working I spend my time with books. I really like books, but you'll have to see the books page for more information about that. Oh, and I'm on the net a lot, as you can imagine. I can get to my fun acccount from work, but don't tell my boss that (*grin*).

These are some crocuses I found in the back yard the other day. I apologize for the picture, its not very clear, but they were some really pretty crocuses. You can always tell springtime in Boston by the crocuses.
